Strategic Communications Intern - MD Anderson Cancer Center
The primary purpose of the College Student, Strategic Communications, Digital Asset Management (DAM) position is to learn about healthcare strategic communications, support the functions of the DAM team, and assist in the operations of MD Anderson's DAM system, including the archiving and cataloging of assets. Assets include photographs, documents, and graphic design projects.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Digital Asset Management (DAM) Operations: Works with the Digital Asset Management (DAM) Program Manager to maintain the digital assets archived in the Creative Communications office's DAM system. Assists with enforcement of naming taxonomies and metadata schema, tags files with relevant and accurate metadata (descriptive and usage rights), and organizes and uploads assets to the DAM. Reviews and updates metadata on older assets to ensure increased findability and re-useability.
Presentation: Identify and complete a presentation summarizing a DAM project. The project may be self-originated or assigned, based on agreement with the supervisor.
Other duties as assigned.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Must be at least 18 years old and currently enrolled in a degree-granting college or university with related coursework in database management, digital asset management, audiovisual libraries, and/or digital archives.
POSITION INFORMATION
This position will provide a salary at $17 per hour. Position starts on June 10 and runs through August 31.
