Internships for graduate students
Graduate students are eligible to receive course credit towards their degree for internships completed. Please see the requirements below:
We do not offer placements at this time; students are responsible for securing their own internship.
While students are responsible for securing their own internship, we do have an internship coordinator, Kristina Werner. Contact her at kjwerner@central.uh.edu to set up an appointment.
In order to receive credit, students need to secure a faculty advisor and get permission from the Graduate Director (Jill Yamasaki) to be enrolled in a special problems course with their selected advisor. Click here to email Jill. Please include the completed internship form when you email her.
Internships need to be communications related.
Students will need to work at least 150 hours at their internship in order to receive credit.
Only one internship may be used to receive credit.
Students who successfully complete all of the requirements will receive 3 hours of course credit toward their degree.
