Marketing, PR, and Social Media Intern - Rachelle Rowe PR

Rachelle Rowe Public Relations is a boutique Marketing and PR firm founded by Rachelle Rowe, an innovative event marketer and business development professional with over 15-years experience marketing record-breaking entertainment events, non-profit initiatives, and small businesses.

This internship offers a unique opportunity to delve into Houston's rich history, with a specific emphasis on preserving and upholding its cherished legacy for future generations. Through hands-on experiences and research, interns will contribute to the preservation of Houston's historical narratives and ensure the continued appreciation of its cultural heritage. While the internship is not paid, it is eligible for class credit.

Job Duties

  • Assist with developing and executing creative copy and materials for digital and print marketing use

  • Conceptualize and implement concepts through high-quality design and production, ensuring design is in sync with the established brand style guides

  • Pitch ideas and assist in the growth of the brand through existing social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube)

  • Develop new ideas and strategies for expansion on new social media platforms, such as TikTok and Instagram Reels

  • Build weekly/monthly social media calendars

  • Create and maintain detailed contact lists

  • Cultivate client relationships to understand their needs and defined project scope

  • Interact with followers and potential customers by communicating and answering questions through the RR Media Group and DWM pages

  • Provide creative insight into topics to be included in monthly editorial calendars and seek creative ways to spread our message

  • Review analytics and deliver feedback on content performance

  • Analyze brand competitors and provide insights

  • Collaborate with staff, as needed, attend relevant meetings, and understand how social fits into broader marketing strategy and goals

Requirements

  • Strong admin, computer and IOS skills

  • Extremely strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and a high motivation to learn

  • Reliable, self-motivated and able to work effectively without onsite supervision

  • Experienced with how to use Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to promote a brand

  • Graphic design experience using Canva is a plus

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Entry-level understanding of marketing/public relations strategy

  • Comfortable working with Google Suite

  • Majoring in marketing, journalism, advertising, public relations, or a communications-related field is a plus
