Livestream Technician - University of Houston College of the Arts

We are seeking a Livestream Technician to join our team and assist with the production of livestream performances and events. This role involves operating cameras, helping with audio, handling miscellaneous stagehand tasks, archiving media, and performing basic video editing. This is a part-time paid opportunity.

The Livestream Tech would be a general assistant for all tech needs primarily at The Moores Opera House and Dudley Recital Hall. Tech responsibilities would include Camera operation, stream setup, video archiving, assisting in Audio setups, and any other general needs related to audio or video.

Job Duties

  • Livestream Performances: Assist in the setup and execution of livestream performances, ensuring smooth operation of all technical equipment.

  • Operate Cameras: Handle camera operation during livestream events, capturing high-quality footage from various angles.

  • Entry Audio: Assist in running audio equipment, including microphones and soundboards.

  • Miscellaneous Stagehand Tasks: Assist with miscellaneous stagehand duties, such as setting up and tearing down equipment and managing cables.

  • Archiving Media: Organize and archive media files from livestream events for future reference and use.

  • Video Editing: Perform basic video editing tasks, such as trimming footage, adding transitions, and adjusting audio levels, to produce polished livestream recordings.

Qualifications

  • A basic understanding of how cameras work.

  • Ability to work independently after training.

  • Ability to work nights during the semesters.
