Spring 2025 Communications Intern - The World Affairs Council
The World Affairs Council (WAC) is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to the enrichment of its members and visitors concerning important world affairs. Houston nonprofit internships may be of particular interest to students who can use the Council’s vast network and resources to further their education. Through Internships, undergraduate and graduate students have an opportunity to learn about international issues and assist the World Affairs Council.
Applicants must have a personal interest in international affairs, possess excellent research, writing, and verbal communications skills, be detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities, and possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office. We give strongest consideration to students whose interests and career path can most benefit from their time as an intern.
Details
All internships are IN-PERSON. We currently do NOT have REMOTE internships.
Applicants for Fall and Spring internship terms must be able to give 15-30 hours/week at a fixed, dependable schedule. As part of the internship and the opportunity to learn from a variety of global experts, ideal intern candidates will be available to attend and work with Council staff at 2-3 evening events per month (scheduled in advance and will count toward internship hours).
High performing Fall Interns may be selected to apply for a Spring Internship, upon which they will receive pay in the form of a stipend.
