Responsibilities:
Video Production
Work with Live show production teams, pitching stories and developing segments
Assist with/facilitate booking guests and segments for shows and series
Liaise with daily live show guests
Team with SEO Uploading team to help distribute daily VOD
Work with the live production team to execute daily live show broadcast
Pitch and develop visual graphics for stories and segments
Help conceptualize and create content for social media
Editorial
Attend team’s editorial meetings
Conduct research and reporting for the Yahoo Finance editorial team
Pitch, report and write your own articles and/or scripts
Assist with Yahoo Finance’s newsletters
Help with social media promotion and production
Proofread and fact check scripts and articles
Assist video producers on field shoots
Research and book video guests
Creative Writer/Producer
Scripting short-form videos for the websites and social media
Collaborate with other producers, social media manager, video editor and art director to maintain a high standard of output while ensuring a fast turnaround
Pitch ideas for original content that will enhance the audience
Make your voice heard by promoting your ideas within project teams
Get involved in the intern outings, workshops, and trainings we have available
Present your work to leadership and network with your fellow interns
Building a deep understanding of consumers' personas and their needs that can be solved through Yahoo products
Required Experience:
All Roles
You are actively enrolled in Bachelor's, Master’s, or PhD program in relevant field
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
You are able to complete an 8-12 week summer internship
Video Production
Someone hungry to learn about every aspect of Video Production
Interested in learning more about financial news
Determined to work well with others in a highly collaborative environment
Excellent with time management and ability to balance priorities, multiple projects, and tasks with ease
Able to work in the NYC office
Editorial
Preferred: prior journalism experience at local (can be a student publication) or national media outlet
Passion for current events, journalism, and finance
Experience with content management systems and social media
Creative Writer/Producer
Possess strong writing skills and experience with visual storytelling
Able to multitask, balance priorities, and meet deadlines
Knowledgeable of what’s trending
Able to identify buzzy and trending opportunities within a Live Event and write supporting articles around that video clip.
Possess a strong understanding of how content is consumed and distributed online and via social and search platforms

The compensation for this position ranges from $24-$52/hr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. Yahoo provides industry leading benefits for our interns including 401k plan, company holidays, and Summer Fridays. Eligibility requirements apply.
Yahoo has a high degree of flexibility around employee location and hybrid working. In fact, our flexible-hybrid approach to work is one of the things our employees rave about. Most roles don’t require specific regular patterns of in-person office attendance.
