Digital Marketing Intern - Spring 2024

Part-time Position - 20 - 30 Hours

Pay - Starting $10 per hour with room to grow

We are proud to be led by co-founders Demi McCormack and Hannah Swiggard, who bring extensive experience and passion to the influencer management industry.

Hannah has a strong background in digital marketing as the founder and leader of Houston’s premier social media and digital marketing agency, Swiggard Creative. She has cultivated relationships with nationally recognized brands such as Charlotte Tilbury, Laura Mercier, Casa Del Sol, Louis Vuitton, and more. Her expertise in strategic marketing and creating content that converts allows our talent to shine and deeply connect with their audiences.

Demi brings extensive experience from the retail sector and an entrepreneurial spirit, having successfully run her own company. As an influencer herself, she understands the intricacies of influencer-brand relationships and the importance of personalized support.

Together, we recognized a growing need for a more hands-on approach to talent and influencer management. Our mission is to provide dedicated guidance and tailored strategies that empower both influencers and brands to achieve their goals. We are passionate about fostering meaningful partnerships that drive success in the ever-evolving digital landscape.

The Role:

We are seeking motivated individuals with a passion for social media and talent management for part-time or full-time internships this Spring. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to assist with a variety of projects, from drafting Instagram schedules to brand/talent reach.

Your Day-to-Day:

Research and Identification

    •   Influencer Discovery: Research and identify potential influencers for campaigns using tools like Canva, Aspire, or social media platforms.

    •    Competitor Analysis: Analyze competitor campaigns and identify successful influencer partnerships.

    •    Trend Spotting: Stay updated on influencer marketing trends and emerging platforms.

Campaign Support

    •    Outreach and Communication: Draft and send outreach emails or DMs to influencers under supervision.

    •    Collaboration Coordination: Assist in coordinating deliverables and deadlines with influencers.

    •    Contract Assistance: Help review contracts and agreements for collaborations (under guidance).

Content Management
    •    Content Review: Help review influencer content to ensure it aligns with brand guidelines and campaign goals.

    •    Content Creation Assistance: Brainstorm creative content ideas for campaigns or social posts.

    •    Tracking and Reporting: Monitor live campaigns to ensure deliverables are posted correctly.

Relationship Building

    •    Database Management: Maintain an organized database of influencer contacts and past collaborations.

    •    Engagement: Interact with influencers’ content to build relationships on behalf of the brand.

    •    Thank-You Notes/Gifts: Assist in sending thank-you messages or gifts post-campaign.

Analytics and Reporting

    •    Campaign Performance Analysis: Help track metrics like engagement rates, impressions, and ROI from campaigns.

    •    Platform Insights: Generate reports from tools like Instagram Insights, TikTok Creator Marketplace, or Google Analytics.

    •    Presentation Prep: Assist in creating presentations summarizing campaign results for internal teams.

Administrative Tasks

    •    Calendar Management: Update influencer campaign calendars with important deadlines and milestones.

    •    File Organization: Maintain organized folders for contracts, briefs, and influencer assets.

    •    Invoice Processing: Help process and track influencer invoices and payments.

Learning and Development

    •    Tool Familiarity: Learn and use influencer marketing tools like Traackr, Grin, or Klear.

    •    Workshops/Webinars: Attend industry webinars or training sessions to deepen their knowledge.

    • Cross-functional exposure: Shadow meetings with other departments (e.g., social media, PR, talent) to understand how influencer marketing integrates with broader strategies.

Assigning these tasks ensures the intern gains a variety of experiences while contributing meaningfully to your team’s goals.

Ideal Candidate:

Web-savvy with a strong interest in influencer/talent management, possessing excellent critical thinking and research skills. This internship will provide valuable insights into building a professional brand and preparing for a future career in the industry. Ideally, you will have completed or be pursuing a degree in Journalism, Mass Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.

Qualifications:

  • Strong written and communication skills.

  • Serious multitasking ability.

  • Flexibility and willingness to handle multiple projects and tasks.

  • Deep knowledge of Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.

  • Incredible attention to detail.

  • Canva, Photoshop/Adobe Illustrator skills are a major plus, but not required.

  • Must be able to work part-time at home and part-time at our office in the Heights.
