Position: Social Media & Marketing Intern
Location: Houston/Texas (Hybrid/In-Person/Remote, as needed)
Duration: 6 months – 1 year
Flexible Hours: 5-10 hours per week
Compensation: $250-$500 Stipend

Navidad En El Barrio's mission is making life more pleasant for those less fortunate than others. Diversifying its interests to all age groups has enabled the organization to continue bringing smiles to those who otherwise might have lost all hope. We are a grassroots organization and are so excited and honored to be celebrating our 38 th year. We are seeking a passionate and creative Social Media & Marketing Intern to support our outreach efforts, increase engagement, and help amplify our impact.
Responsibilities
Assist in developing and implementing social media strategies to promote the organization’s mission and programs.
Create engaging content, including graphics, videos, and written posts, for social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.).
Monitor social media channels, respond to comments/messages, and engage with our online community.
Assist with email marketing campaigns, newsletters, and website updates.
Help plan and execute digital marketing initiatives, including fundraising and awareness campaigns.
Track and analyze social media performance metrics to optimize engagement.
Collaborate with team members to align marketing efforts with organizational goals.
Support event promotions and outreach efforts as needed.
Qualifications
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
Strong understanding of social media platforms and content trends.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Basic graphic design and video editing skills (Canva, Adobe Suite, or similar tools preferred).
Experience with social media scheduling tools (e.g., Constant Contact) is a plus.
Passion for nonprofit work and community engagement.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
