Summer Internship Activities May Include The Following

  • Orientation and training events, field trips, social activities, weekly seminars and opportunities to meet and interact with functional leaders.

  • Participating in continuous coaching conversations with your manager, who will provide direction throughout your internship.

  • Provided with an assigned mentor for further guidance and to help you with the technical challenges of your role and give assistance in navigating through the day-to-day questions regarding working in the corporate world.

  • Giving a presentation at the end of the summer to senior business leaders and key stakeholders. This is an opportunity for you to demonstrate what you learned in your internship and provide insight on your experience.

Our Communications and Public Affairs organization is a central function that includes company-wide internal and external communications such as global employee communications, crisis, and media relations, brand and reputation management including philanthropy, sponsorships, and content management. We design and deliver strong global communications that are aligned with the company’s overall business strategy. In addition, the team upholds best-in-class communications team values such as demonstrating transparency, ethics and effectiveness in all work.

A Summer Internship With Phillips 66 Communications & Public Affairs Provides The Opportunity To Work On An Array Of Assignments Within The Communications Department And Work With Internal And External Stakeholders, As Well As Travel To Complete Assignments As Needed

  • Opportunity to work among the different facets of the Corporate Communications organization including external communications, employee communications, digital media, stakeholder engagement, social impact and brand & reputation

  • Assignments that develop technical and professional skills, and will involve collaboration with various Phillips 66 functions

  • Written and verbal communication through multiple channels

  • Internship opportunities are located at our headquarters in Houston, Texas

Required Qualifications

Requirements for a Phillips 66 Internship:

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Public Relations, Advertising, Communications, Journalism, Visual Communications, or equivalent field of study

  • Greater than 60 hours of earned college credit

  • Graduation date of August 2025 or later

  • Available for a minimum of eleven continuous weeks

Preferred

  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale

  • Strong writing and/or oral communication skills

  • Previous internship or co-op participant in related industry

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced enviorment
