Internship Overview

We are seeking a creative and motivated Signature Events Marketing Intern to support the planning and promotion of our premiere annual event — the Black Excellence Unleashed Gala — taking place on September 20, 2025. This role is perfect for a student or emerging professional looking to gain real-world experience in nonprofit event marketing and community engagement.

The Gala is a celebratory evening bringing together Black professionals, leaders, and changemakers from across Texas. The night will spotlight culture, community, and excellence while distributing scholarships to empower the next generation of Black youth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design marketing materials such as invitations, signage, social media graphics, and event collateral

  • Develop and execute promotional strategies for the gala

  • Create video content for event highlights, social media, and website use

  • Manage social media channels and respond to media inquiries

  • Draft and send email campaigns and invitations

  • Support community engagement and outreach efforts

  • Support outreach efforts to secure event sponsorships

  • Assist with ticket sales and promotional strategies to boost attendance

  • Attend bi-weekly Gala Committee meetings (virtual)

  • Follow an established marketing plan while bringing new creative ideas

What We're Looking For

  • Strong graphic design and content creation skills (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar)

  • Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok)

  • Interest or experience in event promotion, nonprofit work, or community organizing

  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit

  • Ability to manage time and meet deadlines independently
