Public Relations Intern - Giant Noise

The public relations intern plays a vital role in public relations daily operations. They work closely with designated teams and assist in research, writing, events, and more. Successful candidates are confident and communicative individuals, with basic skills in copywriting and a high proficiency in Google Suite. The intern will learn and experience all aspects of a successful public relations campaign throughout their time at Giant Noise.

About the Job

  • Assist with monthly status reports and client wrap-up reports

  • Research media outlets for client media opportunities

  • Attend and staff client’s events

  • Create and manage media lists on Muckrack database

  • Draft cover letters, media alerts and additional press materials

  • Pull, manage, and organize clips/press hits

  • Assist with administrative tasks and organization digitally and in office

About You

  • Demonstrate exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills

  • Demonstrates excellent organizational skills: ability to multitask and prioritize

  • Highly proficient in Google Suite and other appropriate social media platforms

  • Work well independently and collaboratively with others

  • Solve problems effectively, efficiently, and creatively

  • Strive to set and achieve personal objectives and goals

  • Works to understand industry, terminology and competitive set

  • Must have access to reliable transportation and valid driver license

  • Preferred candidates will be enrolled in an accredited college or university

  • Preferred candidates will be enrolled in a Public Relations, Marketing, Advertising, Digital Media, or Communications program

What It Takes

  • Physical Demands: Sitting 85% of the time, standing 15% of the time.

  • Working Hours: Typically, work hours are from 9:00 AM CST to 6:00 PM CST, Mondays through Fridays. Willingness to work nights and weekends as needed.

  • Physical Ability: Capable of lifting 20-50 lbs. as necessary.

  • Manual Dexterity: Regular use of hands and fingers for computer use.

  • Sensory Function: Everyday use of vision and auditory senses, including exposure to blue light from computers.

  • Environment: Work primarily indoors in an environmentally controlled setting.

  • Communication: Daily communication with peers, media, and clients is essential to the role.

  • Cognitive Demands: Ability to maintain cognitive thinking and logical reasoning throughout tasks and responsibilities.
